Many impoverished families live miles away from a water source. Some children can't attend school regularly because they carry water, making many trips and hauling small amounts at a time. We can solve this problem for only $400 by building the family a concrete pila. Pilas are concrete basins for collecting water for drinking, washing, and bathing.
