Building a Home, Building Love

The mud and stick homes cannot withstand heavy storms, and when the rainy season comes, there is no escaping the harsh weather. If a storm destroys their mud and sticks home, many families have nowhere to go and live without shelter.

Set a Foundation of Safe Beginnings
Lay the GroundWork for the Gospel

Many people in the regions we serve live in stick and mud homes, which, over time, become brittle and cannot hold up to the elements. Storms come and leave families homeless. In the meantime, most people would not be able to afford the traditional concrete block.

Villagers in the regions where we serve live in stick and mud homes, which, over time, become brittle and cannot hold up to the elements. Most of the dwellings have dirt floors, exposing the children to parasites and to the damp ground. When the storms come, families are often left homeless.  Traditional concrete block homes are unaffordable to the villagers.
Fredis' Old Home Made of Mud and Sticks
Read the letter from Fredis Martinez living in Montana de la Flor, Honduras. His family was able to have a safe house built because of loving hearts like yours!
“ Dear Sponsor:
Thank you for your care for me. I am excited that I helped build the first house with the Americans. I learned how to build and I will help in the future.
I play the guitar in church services and I help brother Leandro with anything I can. I am older now and can be more responsible to provide help.
I want to thank you.
Love,

- Fredis Martinez ”

The solution: Block Machine

A small tool, but huge for the work of the Lord.
We design the house size based on the family size. It takes no more than 2 minutes to make a block, and with approximately 1,250 blocks, we can help build a 20ft x 26 ft house.

How it Began

An STM trip participant who is a metalsmith saw the empowering benefits that a block machine could offer to the local people. His desire was to serve God, and he listened to His call to use his abilities to change lives.

Build a safe home

where we serve

Langue, Honduras

In Langue Honduras, where we serve, houses like this are prevalent in the surrounding villages.

Montana de la Flor, Honduras

The Tolupan Indians live in tiny houses of mud and stick, with no division of rooms or privacy. Over the years, the mud deteriorates, causing hazards to the family living inside. The new homes will include a solid foundation with a cement floor and a division for two separate rooms.

What it Does

A block machine enables locals in Honduras to get inexpensive, sturdy blocks that will build safe homes, and it does much more...

Create Employment

Build the Kingdom of God

Honor Dignity

We train and hire locals to work on the block machine, and they earn money that they can use to support their families.
By laying a firm foundation for a family’s house, a door opens for our local missionaries and coworkers to lay the groundwork of the gospel and share the Living Hope in Jesus Christ.
This blessing gives so much more than a strong home, it gives the family the pride of providing for themselves. Poverty robs people of dignity and Hope, but God answers prayer and gives us daily miracles.

2023 Mission trips & Build a Safe home

Over the summer, seven STM trip teams generously donated 8 bags of concrete each, priced at $9 per bag, yielding a total of approximately 3360 bricks for the community on the Mountain of Flower. These bricks are sufficient to construct 2.5 standard 20 ft x 26 ft  homes, with a remarkable cost of just $504.
